meet your specialist trainer Tina Edwards
My love of dogs, especially dog training and other animals started at a very young age. Raised in Kent, my parents both worked long hours and although I nagged and nagged for a pet dog, they realised how unfair it would be on the poor dog. Once, we were nearly all seduced by a gorgeous chocolate miniature poodle puppy that needed a home and I can still see myself sitting in my front garden playing and cuddling and pleading with my mum to keep her!! However, goldfish and a several budgerigars had to satisfy my urge for a dog – not quite the same!
From the time I was in my early 20s and in my own home, I have had a succession of dogs which have brought some anxiety and sadness, but also huge pleasure and fun. Since becoming a Bark Buster trainer in Kent, I have counted myself very lucky to be able to enjoy my daily life, supporting and rehabilitating and training my own rescue dogs and working with so many lovely people and their dogs, helping them to achieve a great new relationship with their once misbehaving pets.
I had come to a point in my life when I needed a change. I decided that a work/life balance was more important than anything else. After some deliberation I decided that dog training and behaviour therapy would be a fantastic way to fulfil my lifetime love of dogs and I started to look around for suitable training. A friend showed me the Bark Buster website and following much thought, research and meetings with the lovely people from Head Office I made my decision. This was based on the incredible support offered, the intense hands on residential training together with the amazing Bark Busters techniques. The training employs gentle, calm methods that dogs instinctively understand and have an almost instantaneous result getting the dog to fully focus and “listen” to an owner, maybe for the first time.
Bark Busters has been in business for over 20 years. Founded in Australia by Sylvia (a former RSPCA centre manager) and Danny Wilson, their long and successful business proves that they are committed to their methods, their therapists and most of all to helping dogs around the world to become happy and obedient members of society.
