"Could see the difference the training made to Ace in no time at all. He seemed a lot calmer in himself as well as being obedient with it!"

A big GSD x who had discovered that barking got attention. He barked non stop for 20 minutes when I arrived! After explaining how I would be tailor making his training to is personality level and the issues he had we started work. I coached the owners into getting his focus on them so that Ace could listen and get the attention and praise he craved from listening to the quiet calm techniques his owners were now using.
"I have already seen an improvement in Ralphy and I'm very impressed with the first session."

Trainer's Comments
Mrs T D is expecting a baby in March and her family were concerned that Ralphy was so lively and exuberant that it'd be too difficult to cope with a baby and a hyper young dog. There was also concern that there may be jealousy and that the dog might not accept the baby. I showed the owners how to help Ralphy understand that jumping, licking, and barging past on stairs was unwanted behaviour and showed him that quiet calm behaviour would be rewarded with praise and gentle attentionl. I gave advice on how to acclimatise him to baby noises and to begin a more random "routine" with him; for when a baby needs attention, Ralphy will come second!
"We have two Flat Coat Retreivers and our first three hour session addressed each of the issues above. Very good early results with both dogs and look forward to continuing success."

Two lovely girls, the younger of which was getting very demanding and trying to run the household! With two dogs it was becomeing difficult to walk them and their incessant barking at passers by was getting very annoying for the owners! We worked on giving the dogs new rules and being consistent in maintaining them, showing and guiding them into new improved behaviour and lots of praise when they understood.
"Tina is b&**%y marvellous and solves long-term major problems with a calm efficiency. She explains techniques clearly and simplifies actions to make them clearly understandable. Having control over my dog is the most empowering feeling! I would recommend her to anyone!"

Two dogs in this rural home, the older female was causing a nuisance by barking at the gate and along a lengthy fence line; at passers by, horse riders, sometimes spooking the horses and local dog walkers. We worked on gaining full control in the house first ensuring that the owner regained leadership before moving outside. We set up situaions so we could correct the barking with lots of praise to reinforce the good response.
"Amazing change in short time. Still a long way to go, but very optimistic."

Trainer's Comments
This young GSD is a big dog and had started to throw his weight around! Basically, a lovely character but a little misguided in his view of who should be in charge! He was very hyper but a change in his diet helped him to concentrate on the training and on the second visit his owner was coached on the walking techniques very successfully.
"Very satisfied with the training Tina Edwards gave. She took time and trouble to explain feeding and training. I learned a lot and will now carry on putting into practise all I was taught. My dog really enjoyed the session and so did I. Didn't realise how easy it was to train a dog with a quiet voice and gentle handling. Well done Bark Busters."

A very sweet natured girl, who seemed to have been used as for puppy breeding and rehomed when no longer wanted. A lucky girl to have found a lovely home and although she had a few issues, the main one being chasing the resident cat, she responded very well and we were able to get her to behave better with the cat at the first session.
"Although the fee for this training initially seems high, I can honestly say from our first session with Tina I now have no qualms about what we've paid. Tina herself was lovely, extremely informative and easy to talk to/understand. Although Rhodey and Dave are having ongoing training, the changes (in Rhodey especially) are amazing!!! He now is actually a joy to walk for one and although he is still a pup is so much calmer in himself! A big thankyou to Tina and we are looking forward to addressing his other problems."

A young male dog, already large at only a year, Rhodey was beginning to "throw his weight around"! I showed his owners how to take control of him without using any physical methods like leads or holding collars etc and we got him walking calmly. He had been so difficult to walk he had not been out for some time. Dave is actually more difficult! The smaller and older of the two who needs work, but in the second session we had him walking on a loose lead for the first time in his life!
"Charlie started to respond to the training in the first lesson; we have seen a big change in him. He is 60% better on the lead and he is much calmer in the house. There has been no jumping up on coffee tables etc and and he stops being naughty when I correct him, also I can stop him from jumping up at people when they arrive. We still have a lot to do, but I'm so pleased with the result so far as he is respecting me more too."

Now that Charlie understands what his owner wants, he is happy and wants to please them. Lots of praise, encouragement and guidance has helped him to "listen" to commands and enjoys the one to one attention during training.
"We started to see a difference in the first hour. Tina was very informative on all aspects of ownig a dog. Really looking forward to the next session."

A young dog, found as a stray and now very nervous of the outside world. Her fear shows itself as aggression and extreme hyperactivity when on lead and a desire to escape and run away. Inside she improved rapidly, but outside will take time, patience and calm behaviour to help her to overcome her fears and trust her owner's decisions. She will be well worth the effort.
"I felt Tina explained things very well. It was very benificial to have so much time doing practical training with her here. Our dog has responded very well and is already it's already making a difference."

A young girl, rather excitable especially with the young children in the home. She used to enjoy leaping up and grabbing arms in her mouth! We taught her that this behaviour was not acceptable and taught her to listen to and respect the humans in the household rather than treat them like young dogs like herself!
"The session was great and the therapist was fantastic. I could highly recomend her and Bark Busters to anyone."

This boy was barking and always wanted the "last word"! We tackled this first and had a great result, then moving on the the other areas that needed work, he walked well, but still needs more work for recall.
"After three years of having my arm almost yanked out of it's socket on my daily walk with Jake, my labrador, I was amazed that after just one session he was walking perfectly - and still is a month later. Still a bit of work to do on his habit of rushing to greet every person/horse/jogger/other dogs, but I'm very hopeful!"

A big chunky labrador, but with a lovely character, just not understanding his role in the home or on walks! We worked on general obedience and his focus and acceptance that his owner makes the decisions not him! We then started leadwork which he took to really well, responding happily to keeping next to his owner on a loose lead.
"We really enjoyed meeting Tina and had a very positive morning with her. She was extremely helpful and we are confident in great results. We look forward to keeping in tough with her."

A delightful, cheeky young dog, full of life and fun, but running off and not responding to recall causing huge anxiety and worry for her owners. Also a very lively girl demanding lots of attention. We worked on her listening to her owners taking into account her young age and showed her what was wanted. She loved her training getting loads of praise which she adored! She'll not lose her cheekiness, which is part of her charm, but will listen and therefore be safe.
"It got to the point where I dreaded taking Poppy out for a walk or having visitors round. She had become aggressive and unpredictable. Now I feel there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm so happy that we contacted Tina, she showed us the training in a light and friendly manner and did not make us feel stupid for all the istakes that we'd been making. I look forward to Tina's next visit."

I noticed early on in the session that Poppy pulled away from a gentle stroke down her back and on investigation, following a visit from a physiotherapist, old trauma was found and although this had healed she had bad memories and her body was sensitive. We are working on helping her to "unlearn" the aggressive behaviour to show her that interaction with dogs and people won't hurt her. That and massage should help her body and mind repair completely.
"Since the first session Buddie is responding well to recall and who is "the leader of the pack". I have changed her food which she has welcomed. Short lead work going well. Barking in the garden also improved. Had first encounter with another dog whilst out and off lead also a marked improvement despite the initial dash by her towards another dog but responded to my recall."

A very sweet natured girl who was confused about who should be making decisions! The session involved work in home and garden and short and long lead work showing her how to behave with other dogs in a more sociable way.
"First session with Tina was amazing. She had Seb doing exactly what she wanted barely raising her voice using only one word and no physical contact - she was inspiring. After she left I didn't have the same confidence, but I'm working on it. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but it has to be worked at!"

Another young dog who was making very bad decisions, attacking feet, biting the family, lunging at bikes, cars and barking uncontrollably in the garden. Having recently returned for a follow up, there have actually been major improvements. Control at the front door, no jumping up and better control of barking. At the second session the owner gained sufficient confidence and she was able to walk Seb along a main road with continuous traffic, for the first time ever! More work to be done, but well on the way.
"An excellent service. Tina was totally focused on the training and very informative. We'll happily recommend her to everyone who wants a happy life with dogs."

A very big boy, friendly but determined to jump up at visitors and sometimes strangers when on a walk. Initially he gave the appearance of not being interested in his owners wishes, but very quickly he understood the new techniques put into practice and by the end of the session was loving every minute of the one to one attention he was getting from his owner and all the praise for "getting it right". A new puppy arriving this week will have a great start in life.
"The dog's attitude changed within 20 mins of Tina's arrival. As the meeting progressed I gained more confidence that the training would succeed. To date although not perfect, we are both much better; there is still work to be done."

A young dog who had got into some very bad habits, using his teeth on clothing and to steal items from pockets etc. This had started as a game in his early months, but was no longer acceptable. He very quickly responded to the techniques shown and he is now well on his way to being a happy well adjusted member of the family, rather than the hooligan!
"We were amazed at the improvement after the session. We are now working as a much better family unit."

A teenager, this boy was making up his own rules! Liked to escape to visit a friend down the road and was raiding bins and chewing all sorts of things! Diet was looked at as some of his excitability was likely to be caused by colours and additive in food. However, he responded beautifully to the training and once he understood what was wanted, was very quick and happy to learn and be praised for responding.
"Tina has given us great help in training Barney. Her dietary advice was particularly useful as he seemed to have ADHD previously due to all the addititives in his puppy food!"

This young dog was becoming very unruly; he stole my work bag off a kitchen table on my first visit! He'd been ripping up chairs and his bed and was getting very frustrated. His new diet and calm quiet training has produced a very amenable more focus boy.
